What Makes SaltyCustoms Special?

Now, you may think a regular t-shirt supplier’s job is only to craft designs. At SaltyCustoms, on top of getting a design specially curated for you, they also provide consultancy to their clients. It’s not a matter of just giving out t-shirts to employees – they emphasize on the wastage of fabrication.

Sometimes big companies tend to buy extra sizes and throw them away when there aren’t enough employees to use them.

“We make sure that there is a way to carefully select the sizes of their employees to reduce wastage of fabrication.”

Using Data to Design

Standing out among the competitors, SaltyCustoms don’t just come up with designs from the top of their head. To up the apparel game for corporates, they use data to design the t-shirts in order to help with more sales, conversions and higher retention so that their employees will stay in the company longer since they feel good and happy.

Helping Others Inspire

For King, any business he runs, his ultimate vision is to help others inspire. “If we do a good job for corporate clients, their apparel will be inspirational. When they wear it, they will feel motivated.”

Bumpy Roads Throughout The Years

Any company goes through many challenges over the years. In the t-shirt industry, the market definitely shifted in the past 10 years. “Back then, Uniqlo and H&M weren’t even in Malaysia yet. In terms of strong basic apparel, SaltyCustoms got it right.” After 7 years, sales definitely started to drop for them. The main challenge would be to constantly look for new ways and grow the business.

“As mentioned by Jack Ma, don’t give up. We work together to adapt, change, and adopt technology into the whole business. We are actually Asia’s first company to use data for designing apparels.”

Why SaltyCustoms is Your Preferred Choice for Corporates

Salty Customs

Well, for corporates, especially big ones – they tend to always have a hard time ordering t-shirts as well as designing them. SaltyCustom’s intentions are to provide value to existing and future customers such as creating a platform for them to ease the ordering process. Now, it’s not just t-shirts, but also any merchandise you can imagine! Bottles, bags, caps and many more!

“It’s easy for you to order, you have a team that helps to design, and we can produce all of it for you. If you do a good job at what you are good at, naturally, people will tend to believe in your value.”

Future Plans of SaltyCustoms

SaltyCustoms aims to be the holistic merchandise solution for companies. “We don’t want you to worry about your merchandise. From design to production, as well as order, we will provide a customized platform that only belongs to you. Everything is easily accessible and doable from there.”

Advice to Aspiring Entrepreneurs

King was only 20 years old when he first started. He emphasizes the importance of being good at what you do. “Back then, we tried to diversify and did too many things at one point in time, especially when we attain success and thought maybe it’s time to do more.”

However, sometimes doing too much is not good. “Everything was left halfway. Then, we have to start from scratch all over again.” In short, just be good at what you do and don’t be afraid to make mistakes.

“Ambition and skills have to match. Imagine if you want to fly an airplane, but you don’t have the necessary skills to fly it. The airplane is definitely going to crash. When you fall though, don’t be scared, just start again. Increase your skills, but don’t be afraid to dream, and don’t be afraid to have ambition.”

Yeefu and Doobie

#1. YEEFU: Meaningful Merchandise

Salty Customs

Aside from SaltyCustoms, there is also a platform called ‘Launch’, which is now known as Yeefu.

In short, Yeefu is a platform that helps others inspire through having their own merchandise. Artists, influencers and others in the entertainment industry are all welcomed to join this platform. These campaigns are only limited to X amount of days.

Basically, Yeefu stands for giving back to society. A portion of the sales that the artists and influencers make will be given to non-profit organizations, namely: Teach For Malaysia, OrphanCare and Dialogue In The Dark.

“It’s a triple win situation. Customers win, artists win, and the non-profit organizations win as well.”

There is no up-front cost to start a campaign. Data will be used to analyse what kind of designs their fans will most probably buy.

“Yeefu solves 5 issues – design, product, payment, inventory and shipping. You don’t have to worry about any of these as Yeefu is able to provide them all.”

Born To Stand Out

One of their recent campaigns that run from 5th September 2019 to 15th September 2019, created by Adam Malek, aims to help the disabled children to #standout by expanding our music and arts programs for more disabled children.

#2. Doobie

Doobie is actually a mobile app that allows people to upload their own designs and print them on a t-shirt instantly. It is said to be launched very soon by the end of this month.
